Gloomy short days and lots of rain just now. Welcome to winter! Well I have been scouring the capital for some good news to share with you. First up the fine folk at Tiger Beer have crafted a campaign called "Know the Not known" that encourages us to be challenged to find and follow Tiger references in the campaign's artwork to gain access to exclusive events and offers. Sounds pretty cool to me, they have commissioned artist Shawn Davey to make-you-look-make-you-stare creations all over London that could provide clues to the next offers and events that are running throughout October. As always we like to see some drinkonomical activity and Tiger Beer provide just that with discounts across hundreds of London’s bars, pubs and clubs so check them out. Keep your eyes peeled on their facebook page for the latest event running.

It must be the month of the drinks brand giveaway as Smirnoff are getting in on the act as well. The Smirnoff NightLife Exchange Project is aimed at sharing nightlife experiences from different countries across the world and then recreating these in a host city. Smirnoff wants our ideas as to what we would recommend for London nightlife and you could then be in a chance to win a trip to the host country that will experience London nightlife. From once-in-a-life-time trips across the globe to exclusive tracks by top artists and tickets to incredible Smirnoff events in the capital, go check out the details as it sounds pretty hip.

London Cocktail Week is coming to the capital in October! The events keep getting better and better and unfortunately wrist bands are now sold out but I hope you managed to bag one. If not, there are still plenty of tickets and free events to attend so get on the case and check out the schedule.

My new bar alert this month is The Grand Union, serving up a fantastic beer garden with a circular outdoor bar that might help in re-living the summer days. They have gone for Wandsworth this time and I think it is certainly worth the trip south.

Finally, we couldn’t have an October blog without mention of the world renowned Oktoberfest! So you can’t get over to Munich but fear not as you can still experience Oktoberfest in London. The Bavarian Beerhouse London offers Bavarian live music and entertainment, original German beer served in huge Stein glasses and table service provided by charming waitresses in traditional Bavarian dress. They are running dedicated Oktoberfest events up until November 6th so grab your ticket and practice your "Prost!".
