With its delightful Mediterranean climate and abundance of opportunities, San Diego golf is the perfect family activity. If you don't belong to a private country club with its own exclusive San Diego golf course, you will find numerous public and municipal San Diego golf courses with a choice of convenient San Diego tee times available.

The Public Courses

It would be hard to point at one San Diego golf course and single it out as locals' favorite – but Riverwalk Golf Club may come close to it. With twenty-seven holes at par 72, this former PGA host site is one of the most scenic of all San Diego golf courses. You'll find Riverwalk offers some real challenges, with water hazards throughout the front thirteen (one of which is an actual waterfall – so if you lose a ball, you'll at least have a feast for the eyes). Best of all, Riverwalk is a public San Diego golf course – so it's open to everyone at a relatively low cost.

Another municipal San Diego golf facility is Mission Trails, located in sight of scenic Lake Murray from the back nine. Mission Trails is a San Diego golf course that offers eighteen holes at par 71. You'll even find professional PGA instructors available as well as convenient San Diego tee times.

Private San Diego Golf Courses

The advantage of country clubs is that most have amenities that are not always available at public and municipal golf courses, such as an on-site pro shop and dining facilities.

Those who want to take advantage of additional amenities at some of the area's exclusive country clubs might find Lomas Santa Fe in Solana Beach more to their liking. This San Diego golf course is executive length, cooled by Pacific breezes and provides plenty of challenges for the San Diego golf aficionado. The Vineyard in Escondido is yet another exclusive facility that offers a great deal of variety in terms of terrain, ranging from wetlands to hills and (of course) vineyards that produce some of SoCal's most legendary wines.

Experience the best SoCal has to offer when it comes to San Diego golf – and be sure to book your San Diego tee times well in advance.
