FUEL TV online is the channel to tune in to, if you’re fascinated by extreme sports like skateboarding, snowboarding, motocross, BMX, surfing, and FMX. The channel was launched on July 1st, 2003 and is owned by the Fox Cable Networks. This channel has viewership all over the United States and is broadcasted in more than 26 million American households. Fuel TV is also aired in Australia, U.K., and more than a 100 countries, though on a much smaller scale than in the US. The channel telecasts programmes that include exclusive events, licensed films and catchy interstitials.
The programming can be watched on live FUEL TV non-stop, thanks to its 24 hour a day, 7 days a week broadcasting. Alongwith the programs on extreme sports, the channel also airs other programs, which include a vast array of sports, music, reality shows, and sports news. There are many specials that one can watch on the channel. ‘The Billabong Global Big Wave Awards’ show is a one such special, which is a platform to choose the best male and female big surfers. ‘The Blue Carpet Special’ focuses on some of the biggest movies that have ever been made on extreme sports, including interviews with the sportspersons and the people behind the scenes. ‘The Surfer Poll Awards’ honor the world’s best male and female surfers, on the basis of voting done by fans. In addition to these specials, FUEL TV also had a major event in its kitty, that drew hoards of fans to tune in to it live, as well as online. The event was entitled ‘The Fuel TV Experiment’, and was a year-long program on filmmaking, that followed the story of 10 aspiring filmmakers in the field of extreme sports. The channel provided them with an opportunity to fulfill their dreams of cinematography. The competition winded up with the winning producer, Cory Adams, being awarded a $1 million production budget, and one year to complete his film. Other TV shows telecasted on FUEL TV include ‘Built to Shred’, ‘New Pollution’, ‘Camp Woodward’, ‘Thrillbilles’ and ‘Fins and Stupid Face’, which can all be viewed either live or online. A few of the channel’s programs are exclusively dedicated to films. These include ‘Fuel TV’s Insane Cinema’, ‘F-Stop’, ‘First Aid’, ‘NuMuTu’, ‘Word’ and ‘Signature Series’, to name a few.
