Are you starting to wonder if your match is in your relationship for the long haul or just for fun? We've got some questions you need to ask yourself and your partner!

If you’ve been dating someone for a long time and have not got any definite signs from them that they are wanting to settle down you might want to do some relationship soul searching and ask some questions to your partner:

  1. Is my partner appearing to be in a relationship with me for just fun? Many times single women and men find a steady date to have a companionship or just to help them to avoid being bored all of this being done without the intentions of building a long term loving relationship. There is nothing really wrong with this as long as there is no intentional misleading of one or other, when dating and a relationship is for fun then it should be agreed on between both singles that the relationship is open.

  2. Is my date in a relationship with me but are keeping their other options open? Many times singles will not commit to settling down to a serious relationship because they are thinking in their mind that someone better might not be far off. Again, this is fine as long as there is no clear defined commitment between partners. If the relationship agreement is not of the exclusive type then one or both of you keeping your options open should not create a problematic situation.

  3. Is my partner interested in a long term commitment but not right now? Many times single women and men have the full intentions of settling down and making a long term commitment sometime in the future but just not at the point in time that you are hoping for. There can many legitimate reasons for this, they are deeply involved in their career, getting their college education, or even they are just not ready financially to settle down, and for some singles they simply are not mature enough for a long term successful commitment.

  4. Are you willing to remain committed to a long term permanent relationship with your partner with no sign of commitment from them? Everyone can understand that you have to be patient in a relationship and give your partner an opportunity to get their feelings straightened out but stringing out your partner on and on is totally wrong. When you believe that you’re partner may be dragging your relationship on with no intentions of a serious commitment then you need to move on and find a match that gives you the sense of security and are equally committed to building a long term successful relationship.
