A Win32 error is an error that usually occurs on most home and business computers at some point in their life cycle. The error usually occurs in a Microsoft Windows operating system and normally appears during times when the internet is being used on the machine. Once the error occurs, whatever program or executable you are working on at the time will stop working and the WIN32 error will appear on the screen in the form of, "WIN32 has encountered an error and will be closed by Windows." This error can become a nuisance and below are a few tips and procedures that can be done to get past the error in the future.

• Install all updates prompted by your Windows operating system. Normally this function should be set to automatically download any updates. If this feature is not enabled, it can be accessed via START>ALL PROGRAMS>WINDOWS UPDATE.

• Install all driver updates on your pc for all programs and peripherals. This can be done via START>ALL PROGRAMS >WINDOWS UPDATE and select the tab for DRIVER UPDATES. Make sure that these are in the current updated state as the Windows Update from earlier.

• Run a virus scan on your system through your Antivirus software. Most antivirus programs have an option that will scan your hard drive immediately and remove any infected items from files on your computer. Having a proper Antivirus program running scans automatically on your system at certain times of the week is essential to avoiding errors such as WIN32.

• Download and install a registry cleaner which takes a look at your registry and cleans any unnecessary items that may causing errors in your executables. Several are available to download on the internet and once obtained can be run similar to a virus software on a manual and automatic basis.

• Press START>RUN and in the command line offered, type in the word REGEDIT. This command will take you to the pc’s registry editor. Once in the registry editor, you will click on the following path HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SYSTEM>CurrentControlSet>NETBT and then click on the option referenced as Parameters. There will be an option listed as TransportBindName that you will click on and then remove any data within this parameter.

• In REGEDIT, you will then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >SOFTWARE> Microsoft>Ole and click on the EnableDCOM and change this from Y to N.

• Reboot the PC and the WIN32 errors should no longer be affecting you machine.

A Win32 Error is definitely not an error you want to be having during your time on the internet or when putting spreadsheets together for a big project at work. Hopefully, with the provided steps above, this problem will alleviate itself as fast as it was presented on your computer.
