If you use Google for sharing of work documents similar to excel spreadsheets or presentations the present operations you have available allows you to send files independently one-at-a-time up to Google Docs through your browser on-line. This procedure can be very time consuming and not real resourceful. If you would like to add more documents then you will have to manually generate a folder to store the files up at Google docs which is one more tedious step. If you’re like me the procedure of moving all the work files I would need at Google Docs would take to long making Google Docs not a real good option.
However, I found this little utility from Cloud Hero (www.cloudhero.com ) that lets you to drag-and-drop whole folders of information as it is on your PC directly from your PC to Google Docs right from within Windows Explorer or you’re "MY COMPUTER" function on your main PC. In Windows you just open my documents, go to the folder you want copied to Google docs and click the folder to activate it then drag it to the Cloud Hero drive on the PC. Release the mouse click and the files copy to the Cloud Hero drive which is sending the folder and contents automatically up to Google Docs. You do not need to be logged into Google Docs or have the browser open for all this to happen. The wonderful thing about this is all this occurs automatically so you do not need to do an added route or recollect to do something else it is all automatic. The look and feel of this procedure is very familiar because this is just how windows normally works for you so you do not need to know how to use a different program. Cloud Hero is a Enormous time saver and makes me more well-organized. Keep in mind with Google Docs you’re only looking at moving up the same type of files as you use with Microsoft Office which is Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files. If you're a Google Apps user (which is the same as a Google Premier account) you can actually drag-and-drop through the Cloud Hero program "any file type" so be stored at Google. This means you can send any type of file format for storage such things as music, video etc. as well as files you use with AutoCAD, QuickBooks, and Quicken etc. Consequently this then becomes a true REMOTE DUPLICATION service making this a famous choice to other expensive backup alternatives.
What is really great about Cloud Hero is it will additionally synchronize any adjustments that are made to a file on your PC or at Google Docs automatically and it sends the newly modified file to the alternate location which is a great way to know your data is always totally duplicated wherever you make changes. This duplication sync process takes place when you’re on the internet and automatically occurs between your PC and your Google account every 15 minutes so you do not need to memorize to do any procedure or run a program it is all done in the background as you carry out your normal daily computer work.
Here is an additional situation I have run into. You are on your cell phone (does not matter what type of smart phone you have) you access your Google Docs account via a browser and modify the file and it saves at Google Docs. If this file is shared with people they will automatically get an e-mail message to check the file modifications and Cloud Hero also knows there is a modified file and pulls it down from Google Docs directly down to your main PC all within the 15 min. (providing the main PC is left on, if not then next time the main PC is turned on the file is pulled down from Google Docs automatically).
All Google Doc’s user or Google Apps (Premier account users) should looking at getting Cloud Hero as an add-on product to really save you time with a reduced amount of frustration which enables you to put in place a system to have a full duplicate copy of all your records and folders in an off-site qualified storage company - Google. You will have a greater piece of mind knowing your data is duplicated whenever you change a file and receive the benefits of saving you a great amount of time.
