Scabies is a parasitic infection of global proportion which is not biast by race or cleanliness. It is estimated that there is over 300 million active cases of scabies a year which is widespread worldwide. Better known as 'Sarcoptes scabiei var hominis', scabies is a very highly contagious skin infestation which occures under the first layer of the skin, typically found in folds and creases such as knuckles, fingers and elbows. People living with scabies is nothing new, these infestations have been happening for more then 2500 years and will continue to happen as the bug is very viral. Aristotle even wrote about "lice in the flesh" which he claimed resulted in Celsus, and Vesicles which would ultimately need sulfur mixed with a base cream for a remedy to this disease.

Transmission of Scabies

The transmission of scabies is usually through direct skin-to-skin human contact, and this is the primary reason why scabies is considered a sexually transmitted illness. It is speculated that men who have sex with other men are at a higher risk of transmitting this disease then other people. This disease may not show for up to 10 weeks as the scabies mites do not itch until their debris and fecael matter is placed under the skin, this is when you start to become allergic and usually develop lessions and feel itching. A normal case of scabies a person may have between 6 and 20 mites underneath the skin, in a case of Crusted or Norwegian scabies the infected person may have thousands or millions of the bugs. If you think you have scabies you should be immediately taking action to stop the infestation and the life cycle of these mites.

Using Sulfur to Kill Scabies

Over the last few years, scabies remedies which contain pesticdes and insecticides have started to become ineffective in the treatment of scabies. It seems the scabies mite has become resistant to these treatments and require other methods of treatment which can penetrate the skin and dry the mite out. The best treatment to use for scabies is sulfur lotions and creams as they can penetrate the skin and are natural which means you do not get post secondary skin infections. We highly suggest you start using sulfur treatments for you scabies as quickly as you can to eradicate the scabies mites as quickly as possible before they spread more.
