In this article I am going to show you 2 things that children commonly do that actually are fantastic ways to lose stomach fat, and in fact all the fat on your body.

Why would you be interested in doing something that children do? After all you are an adult?

The reason why sometimes it is worthwhile taking a cue from our youngsters is that children, especially young children, do a lot of things instinctively. They have not yet built in bad habits.

One great example used in industry is that we should lift objects, either heavy or not, like a child lifts them. Young children automatically bend at the knees and keep their back straight. Adults on the other hand tend to bend over at the waist or twist round to grab something. Countless injuries are caused this way, leading to either lawsuits or time off, which is the reason why a lot of companies send their employees on manual handling courses.

Whether you take on board what is in this article, it goes without saying that if you do not adopt some new practices and techniques into your current diet and exercise, you will not lose the stomach fat you currently have.

This being said, it may be worthwhile that you try these tips.

The 2 tips I am going to show are a tip for exercise and a tip for eating. They are both very easy to implement; in fact one of them you can do right away.

Tip 1

Learn how to skip.

Skipping is a much better form of cardio than running so it pays to add this to your cardio arsenal. This does not mean giving up running; quite the contrary in fact. It is better to have different intensities of cardio and skipping gives you a higher intensity option.

As you well know, kids skip all the time, but then so do boxers; and you know how fit boxers are. It builds endurance and conveniently it burns more calories than running, in fact the common estimate is 3 times as much.

Adding skipping to your exercise program alone will start to produce better results in 1 to 2 weeks.

Tip 2

Eat more during the day and only when you get hungry.

Remember when you were much younger and you would eat a little snack of treat about 3 hours after lunch. Your mum or dad made you something, like cheese on toast or something else simple like that. You had a lot of energy back so you needed to be fed in between the main meals.

In fact, you may be a parent and have this issue with you children right now so you know how effective it is at calming them down when done properly.

This idea of introducing more meals during the day has 2 benefits:

  • It helps keep your blood sugar relatively constant during the day so that you do not overeat at main meal times

  • It trains you to eat every 3 to 4 hours - in fact you will start to get hungry every 3 to 4 hours

Try this for the next few days. I recommend that you try eating your breakfast at around 7 or 8 in the morning, have lunch at 12 to 12.30, add in a light meal at 4 o’clock in the afternoon and have dinner from 7 to 8 in the evening. This is not a rigid timetable; just a suggestion, though as you can see it fits into typical eating times and does not replace the core 3 meals that you are used to.

You will find that you start getting hungry only around these scheduled times and feel less of an urge to snack. In a way you are becoming your own parent and learning how to keep your stomach quiet by feeding yourself regularly!
