Paintball is an extreme sport and very physical at times. Proper protection should be worn to prevent guns from shooting paint in vital areas of the body. Some equipment that is ideal for gun fanatics are paintball masks, gloves, chest protectors and knees pads. By wearing the appropriate gear, a player can decrease their chances of walking away from a game with a variety of welts, bruises and other painful injuries.

Masks

Wearing a paintball mask is a sure way to protect the eyes, mouth and nose from continuous gunfire. A great mask for a paintball game is one that provides a player with an anti-fog system. Masks with anti-fogging abilities diminish any fog from being inhaled and a moist atmosphere. This is ideal for a hot summer day or the competitive player. When a player purchases a mask, it is critical to make sure that the mask fits them tightly and is not loose in any areas. Looseness in pieces of equipment can result in a player’s mask slipping off during a game and a paintball striking them in the face.

Chest Pads

Chest pads are important during a heated and long game where players are being continuously shot at by multiple paintball guns. Chest gear will not only protect a players upper torso, but their upper abdomen as well. If a paintball strikes a player in the abdomen, they could easily find themselves with a bruised kidney or even a fractured rib, if hit with enough force. Just like a mask, chest pads should be fitted tightly and checked before every game for tears or loose ends.

Gloves

Gloves are a great piece of gear to wear during a game, especially in the middle of winter. Wearing gloves will help a players fingers from slipping off their guns trigger and keep them warm when the weather gets frigid. Gloves that are worn during games should have gripping on the palm and finger tips to avoid the guns slippery surface, but at the same time it should have thick material to keep the wind from entering the gloves.

It is better to be safe than sorry while indulging in a game of paintball. Just by wearing a helmet, gloves and a chest pad, a player can greatly decrease the chances of any injuries from happening. Protective gear is a practical thing to wear when a person is using paintball guns.
