Winters And The Skin
Winters have a bad effect on the skin, leaving it dry and flaky. Sweating is a very important method to get the waste out of the body and to also keep the skin moisturized. Essentially, sweat does two main jobs: one, it adjusts the body temperature; and two, it assists in getting rid of all the toxins inside the body.
The skin is the body's largest organ. It is covered with pores (minute openings that have a tendency to soak up things from the environment which may not be good for the body). Artificial environments, smog, synthetic clothing, and other rudiments clog up the pores every single day. To get rid of the body toxins, people need to sweat out these particles.
As sweating does not occur during winters, one has to indulge in long gym sessions everyday. If a person does not enjoy that, it is necessary to induce the sweating process in some other way. The best way to do it is by taking steam shower on a regular basis. These showers, which are also called sweat baths, is exactly what's needed for staying healthy. After weeks of regular usage, people feel more energized, the skin feels very soft, and the body feels more active.

Normally such indulgences require a trip to the health spa. But, these days several homeowners prefer to re-create this experience in their home by transforming their ordinary shower stalls into warm sanctuaries called steam showers. Apart from helping the skin, these showers have several other benefits. For example, you do not have to wait for a tub to fill or a sauna to get heated up. Moreover, when you are done steaming, you can turn the shower on for a stimulating rinse.
Working Of These Showers
To start the steam, you simply have to press the digital controls. This activates an electric valve that fills up the steam generator with cold water. After that, the electric element of the generator boils the water. A pipe transfers the vapor to the head of the steam, or a disperser fills up the stall with moisture which does not get above 118 degrees Fahrenheit.
Steam showers are a great way to luxuriate as long as you want. You can steam for about 20 minutes, which will only consume two gallons of water. By that estimate, it is obvious steam is a very "green" way to take a bath. But one's electric bill is sure to jump up. It is definitely the time you realize that it's important to give the skin a spa-like feel as much as possible. This would make you feel refreshed in this winter season.
