The camel trend is one of the biggest trends of the season. Many designers used the colour in their shows including Chloe, Stella McCartney, Lanvin and Gucci. As camel is such a key trend it’s a good idea to invest in one or two camel pieces in order to ensure your wardrobe is of the moment and in style. To help you update your wardrobe here is a guide on how to wear the camel trend.

Coats

If you only buy one item this season make it a camel coat. A camel coat is a warm and versatile layer which goes with lots of different colours and looks. The most common type of camel coat this season is in an oversized mannish style with simple button detailing. To add shape to this type of camel coat tie a thin brown belt around the waist. It’s a good idea to invest in a decent camel coat as the material should look luxurious and thick and the coat should hang beautifully.

Trousers

Camel trousers are not only on trend in terms of colour, but they also work well with a number of this season’s styles. The minimalist look is well served by camel trousers as their chic and simple tailoring is unfussy and sleek. To work the 1970s trend go for a pair of camel trousers in a wide loose leg and a luxury fabric. For something more practical and day to day a pair of camel chinos are smart and flexible and can be either dressed up or down.

Blouse

A silk blouse looks brilliant in camel and will feel luxurious and stylish. This season look for a blouse with a pussy bow colour as it nod to the 70s trend as well as the feminine styling seen on many of this seasons catwalks. For a slightly more casual look a cotton camel blouse will look great with a pencil skirt or long straight trousers.

Shoes

Almost every style of shoe can be found in camel this season. Jimmy Choo showcased some beautiful strappy high heeled camel coloured shoes, with shoes like this working very well with floral dresses and shorts. For the office, a pair of camel peep toes are smart yet feminine enough not to feel too boring and stuffy. For the cold winter weather a pair of camel ankle boots will see you right through to spring.

Accessories

Like with footwear, camel can be found on almost every kind of accessory this season. For an accent of camel, go for a string of camel coloured beads or a camel bangle. Camel is a relatively neutral shade which makes it ideal for a handbag as the bag will go with a wide range of outfits. An oversized camel handbag with straps, buckles and pockets is practical and on trend. For something more ladylike and subtle opt for a camel clutch bag or camel handbag with a clasp opening.
