Let me share just a few misconceptions about infertility:

Misconception #1 -Your infertility can be fixed by a fertility clinic

Anyone will tell you Infertility treatments are n no way guaranteed. Those clinics prey on people desperate to have a baby and have them walk away from the treatments with no baby and $0 in their bank accounts.

Misconception #2 - Infertility is only a female issue

According to American Society for Reproductive Medicine only about 1/3 of infertility cases are attributed to the woman, another 1/3 of the cases are male related and another 1/3 is a combination of problems with both parties or is unexplained.

As the man with one of our issues, I was dealing with retrograde ejaculation. Retrograde ejaculation is when the sperm travels the wrong way back into the bladder upon ejaculation. Needless to say I no longer suffer from retrograde ejaculation. My baby girl is proof of that.

Misconception #3 - Infertility is caused by waiting too long to start a family-being too old to have children

The truth is to successfully make a baby everything has to be in perfect alignment. Don't get me wrong, fertility does slow down a bit as we age, but age aside, many problems that lead up to being diagnosed as infertile is due to untreated medical conditions.

Misconception #4 - Infertility can only be "cured" by adoption

Wow!!! Clearly, that's an easy way around the problem, but what about those of us that want our own baby? Adoption provides a loving home for a child in need, I totally get it, but it does not "cure" the desire to create new life.
