In what ways can Google integrate live twitter updates to their search algorithm? Going from recent news updates, Google and Bing are about to feature live twitter updates to their search results. This opens up several questions on upcoming SEO practises: how is Google and Bing going to incorporate twitter into their algorithms?
Check the list below for likely factors in the Google Twitter Algorithm:
- Number of People Following
If other things are in place, a higher Twitter grade ought to be achieved with more followers as they would play an influential role in the Google Twitter algorithm.
- Influence of Followers
If your followers have more people following them, you are in a more favourable position. This factor is a major aspect of Hubspot’s algorithm and is most likely to be one of the most determining factors in Google and Bing Twitter Algorithms.
- How Recent the Update is
The people that are most likely to get higher grades are users that are more current.
- Updates
Generally, more updates result in a higher grade – if done reasonably. Although risky, this has the potential of rewarding twitter spam.
- Engagement
More retweets lead to higher grade. This is sensible since a higher number of references to your profile makes it potentially powerful. Again, a higher value of engagement depends on the quality of who is being engaged.
- Follower and Following Ratio
A higher following ratio puts you in a more advantageous position. The degree of this factor gets lower with pleasant performance in other aspects of the algorithm. In essence, if the user attains a high level of following ratio or engagement, additional followers or following ratio begins to count less. For instance, if retweets come from a user with quite a high grade, this counts more than getting retweets from someone who uses spammy account with extremely low grade.
Among the above core Twitter tactics, some will count better than others - influence of followers and rate of activity seem to be the most important. For normal sites, retweets is very likely to translate into the commensurate ‘inbound links’. The factor among these 6 that is most likely to count less is update frequency; the reason is that it will be very difficult to put spam under control if update frequency is a core factor.
In addition to the six factors outlined above, other factors will probably come forth by the time Google and Bing Twitter Algorithms are launched. Let’s look at Relevancy and Lists for example.
Relevancy
Currently, relevancy is a significant aspect of Google’s algorithm and it is easy to deduce that it will still form part of the Twitter Algorithm. It will include keywords density monitoring on all profiles. Subsequently, Google will take a look at your followers. Users who have relevant followers will be rewarded by Google’s algorithm. For instance, if your tweeting is usually on SEO subject and you have 500 followers, and 300 people among your followers tweet basically on fitness, the algorithm will show this.
Lists
This is quite a new feature which a good number of people do not know how to use. However, it is likely to be integrated into the Google’s Twitter Algorithm.
