When we build a house or our home which is more comfortable in saying we should always take a day or two into planning our bathrooms. I know with the busy schedule of getting the whole house built and ready it may be strange to ask a day or two just to plan the bathroom when you can do so much other things more productive.

My reasons for taking time out and planning for the bathroom are the following:

This is the room where you will go into on a morning to wash up and brush up to make sure you are ready for your day. You wont be the only who is going to use this, your family will from young to old if you have and therefore if you can understand the wear and tear and the functionality will be very useful.

The bathroom will also be used in the evening when you or anyone from your family wants to unwind from a hard days by either a shower or a bath. Your bathroom is where basically you get ready to present yourself to the world. If you want to look like a million bucks then you are going to require a very good bathroom to get ready in.

The things you should consider planning in your bathroom are obviously the taps, tiles and the bath.

When you are planning for our bathroom tiles be sure that you pick non slip tiles because in the bathroom you are more than bound to spill water and therefore if you have children or even an adult walking about where there is a smooth surface and water then you are bound to have an accident such as a slip. Let me tell you that falling on something shiny and hard like a tile is not an easy recovery.

Be sure to take into consideration how you want the overall bathroom to look like because the last thing you want is your bathroom tiles not matching your bathroom floor tiles.

Then you should choose if you want your bathroom to have a bath if not consider a slim line shower cubicle if you don’t have the space. If you don’t have the space for a bath and a shower cubicle then consider installing a bath with a shower screen so you can have a bath and a shower in the same space. This solution is cheaper and is a great space saver when you want both but only have the space for the one.

You should then think about which bathroom taps you want in your bathroom. Some home owners are happy with non matching bathroom taps where they have a stylish basin tap such as a waterfall effect tap with a free standing bowl and then they will have different bath taps or bath filler or a bath shower mixer. You should decide on what kind of bath taps you require if you are putting a bath in your home. I would ideal say go for a bath shower mixer tap because you get the same function as bath pair taps a bath filler and a shower all in one tap.
