It has always been said that what ever looks good will not operate better as something of the same nature that doesn’t look good. A very good example is that you may want to install a designer radiator in one of your bathrooms. Now the good thing about designer radiators that they look very good and are very slim and unlike traditional radiators you can put them up straight on the wall. But the downside is that the BPU or otherwise known as the heating out put per hour is considerably lower than your traditional ugly looking radiator’s.
The same can be said about anything with designer made, just because you pay over the odds or a premium for a certain good which has a brand and is made an designer item it doesn’t mean that it will perform better for you just because you paid a high price. Sometimes goods which don’t have a brand name will be much better.
When buying taps you should take into account that a higher price that you pay doesn’t guarantee a higher quality mixer tap or a better looking faucet. All it means is that you have paid alto higher than what you would pay for the same tap that wouldn’t be a designer range in a collection of taps.
When you are looking to buy taps for you are your family to use in your home you need to take into account the following things:
-
Usability
-
Will It Mix
-
Costs
-
Guarantee
If you are buying a kitchen tap you need it to be able to mix hot and cold tap at the turn of the lever or handle. The reason being is that if you have young children washing their hands after eating then they need to able to mix hot and cold water by themselves without having to be burnt by a sudden rush of hot water or not allow them to wash their hands by cold water as bacteria doesn’t die until 8 degrees of warm water.
Plus with the wear and tear you need to make sure that your kitchen tap has a good number of years guarantee because any manufacturing fault, you don’t want to be paying for it. That takes us onto our next point which is costs. We all want to save money when buying appliances for our home, but do shop around.
When shopping for the bathroom taps make sure you take into account who will be using that room besides you. If you have young children then you need to make sure you buy a mixer tap to make sure that they don’t burn from hot water. Plus if you have older people they may want to have a shower and a bath in the same space without having to go out of a shower cubicle and then back into the bath for a good soak in. With bathroom taps you will tend to find that you can make great savings when you buy the basin and the bath taps together and will save even more when buying a bath or a shower cubicle together.
Adam is an expert when it comes to choosing bath mixer taps and will give out advice for when you are shopping for your bathroom mixer taps.
