The city of Mendoza, with its 4 Stars Hotels and parks, offers quite a show for holiday in the metropolis. Even So, adventure tourism has found an ideal scenario in the neighboring areas, near the capital.
Whitewater rafting involves the descent in rafts, usually down mountain rivers, over rapids and pools. This practice can take anyone older than 4 years, and no previous experience is required. Rafting is generally related with team practice.
The descents made down the Mendoza River begin in Potrerillos town, 60 kilometers away from the city of Mendoza. As one of the most important rivers in South America, the Mendoza River warranties lots of fun and excitement thanks to its agitated waters, exciting rapids and the speed of its flow. There are several options that go from easy, moderate to difficult. In fact, experts and families can both enjoy the dynamics of this river.
The Mendoza River is a Class III solid stream lacking of pools along its path. You can sail throughout it the entire year, taking its course downstream from April to September, with its major magnificence from November to March.
The summer flow oscillates between 80 and 200 cubic meters per second, and the winter’s is 20. The water, from autumn to spring is clear, and from spring to summer is brown due to the drag of the deposits in its path. However, it is pure with no chemical and biological pollution, with a winter temperature from -5º to 18º, and 20º to 35º in summertime.
The security procedures while we practice rafting are very important to keep everyone safe. That is why highly skilled professional guides accompany people on the descents and a kayak escorts the rafts. Likewise, the rafts are made with the latest technology, with the most resistant materials. The oars are made of PVC and aluminum, which provides reliability on the rowing of each passenger.
Practising rafting is possible throughout any season, but the river has its major flow during the summer, maximizing its level of difficulty. Once the summer is over, the flow reduces considerably, turning the river almost fit for all types of public, mainly amateurs.
Trying rafting in Mendoza River is a different experience, both tough and exciting. That is the reason why the clients of the Mendoza’s 4 Stars Hotel return so merrily tired, with only a bed in mind.
