We all want to make easy money its become the fact of life to be honest. People scrounge the internet night and ay to look and take away a good idea that they think will make them millions. They then come across an idea called "T Shirt Printing". The idea looks too good to be true, because they’ve probably heard the phrases:

  • Work from home

  • Work in your own time

  • Minimal investment

  • No knowledge required

Well let me start of by telling you that no good idea in this world can make do without any of those things I’ve listed there. You may be able to work from home on many great ideas but working from home is a lot harder than working in an office. You require motivation and dedication and very few distractions.

If you’re deciding on starting a t shirt printing business especially with the iron on printing method then it’s a start for something but you’re going to have to review your business plan. Although iron on printing has a lot of advantages and very few disadvantages. The one or two disadvantages are enough to bring your business model down.

The best point with iron on printing is that anyone can start a printing business with this method of printing. Why? Because it requires a lower initial investment from yourself and your partners, you don’t require a lot of space you could run it from your desk or dining table from home, you get to work from home so no overheads like rent or utility bills. If you really got busy and made a success with this method of printing then you could expand within your home to say your garage or a spare room or basement if you are lucky to have one.

You don’t need to invest in special equipment that you wont probably already have. You will already have a desktop pc or a laptop, then you may have a printer of the size of A4 and an iron can be found literally in any household over the globe. The only special piece of material you will need to buy is the transfer paper which can be bought for as low as fifty pence or cent depending on where you are in the world.

The greatest advantage with iron on printing is that you can think of something right now and you can be wearing it within the next ten minutes. Because unlike other printing methods there are not set up of the system or waiting for the screens to dry but literally you’re simply designing the image or slogan on your laptop and its being printed with your printer and next your applying it on a t shirt or any other garment with your iron.

The disadvantages with the iron on printing method is that it’s great you selling them to other people really cheaply, they might think it’s cheap because your starting up. So they’ll all buy in their tens of twenties. But what a lot of people don’t consider is that, the print you have printed and applied on the garment will only if it does last for the 30-40 washes. For some people that’s fine and they are okay with this because they probably wear the t shirt a few times a month and therefore by this usage they will have that t shirt in good condition with the print for a minimum of one year.

So just take into consideration do you really want to start a business where your goods only last for a year? Or would you choose a business where it lasts for a lifetime?
