The red gabled roofs of the Grand Floridian Hotel hint at the wonders hiding inside, and as guests enter the five-story high lobby with its gleaming chandeliers they know they’re in for a treat. With Victorian elegance and all the modern comforts of home, this hotel has something for everyone.
Guest Accommodations
Each room has a view of the gardens or the lagoon with the option of one king or two queen-sized beds. Many rooms have day beds with rollaway beds and cribs available on request. A vanity area with two sinks, complimentary robes, hair dryer, ironing board and iron are standard. A coffeemaker and a refrigerator are also provided with microwaves available on request. Other amenities include an in-room safe, telephone with voicemail, ceiling fan, and for an additional fee Internet service available. All rooms have cable ready televisions with the Disney channel. Like all Disney hotels, the Grand Floridian is smoke free, but unlike some other Disney hotels, this hotel does not allow pets. However, the Floridian staff will assist with making boarding arrangements at a nearby American Boarding Kennel Association facility.
Guest Amenities
Spa treatments such as facials, body wraps, massage, manicures, pedicures, waxes and masks are available to all guests, ages four and up, and children receive hands-on activities to help them learn about skin care and healthy living. While children ages 12 to 17 can enjoy all spa treatments, they must be accompanied by an adult. The Health Club features cable crossover and free weights, elliptical cross trainers, Life Fitness and Precor strength equipment, recumbent and upright cycles Smith machines, stair steppers and treadmills. The Health Club is open to guests 14 to 17 when accompanied by an adult from 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. daily.
Guest Services
Guests may order room service 24 hours a day from the menu of the Grand Floridian Café. Childcare service at the in-house Mouseketeer Club from 4:00 p.m. until midnight provides arts and crafts, computer games, as well as dinner and snacks are in a supervised and specially designed environment. The Concierge service is ready to help al guests. The Ivy Trellis is a full service hair salon and barbershop. Other services include valet parking and a laundry service, although self-service laundry facilities are located inside the hotel.
Business Amenities
Guests at the Grand Floridian Hotel will find the business center, open from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., provides photocopy service, fax, mail and computer service plus Internet to let them handle any business-related tasks. With flexible meeting and banquet space, the hotel can help organize, plan and prepare for business meetings of all sizes. Internet connectivity, remote control lighting, satellite uplinks, audio and visual equipment and recessed screens are just a few of the extras that can be provided.
Guest Activities
Splash in the wave of the Seven Seas Lagoon or rent a boat and cruise the waters. White sand beaches invite visitors to lounge in the sun, build sandcastles and chase the waves. Tennis, jogging trails, golf and outdoor movies are just a few of the other activities to keep guests active and having fun.
Open round the clock, Gasparilla’s Grill and Games provides both food and entertainment, with classic arcade games, the hottest video games and snacks from the grill to let visitors stay and play.
Children ages 4 to 12 can sit down to tea, weekdays from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., with their favorite Disneyland characters. This tea party, just for kids, lets them visit with Disney friends while enjoying apple juice tea and cupcake crumpets.
A visit to Epcot Center will be even more enjoyable when paired with a visit the Grand Floridian Hotel, however, with all the amenities, services and activities you may not want to leave.
