The San Martin Park, settled in the heart of the metropolis, and only a few meters away from Mendoza’s 5 Stars Hotel, has become a cultural and historical icon in the province. Throughout the year, numerous cultural, educational, sports and tourism are developed in its environs.

Important events like the National Harvest Festival at the Greek Theatre Frank Romero Day, the annual meeting Americanto, symphony concerts in Island Lake, international sporting events in the World Championship stadium Falkland Islands, sailing in the Lake, open air cinema in the Rose Garden, marathons, bicycle rides, competitions and meetings of all kinds.

At this leisure place we can find seven sport club, which offer the most varied sports: golf, tennis, rowing, soccer. Cultural and recreational activities also find their site in a major museum, the one dedicated to Natural Sciences and Anthropology, which is located in the old building of "Playas Serranas", with important paleontological and archaeological samples of minerals. This museum is visited daily by many students and tourists.

During the weekend the Sports Office organizes free activities at the roundabout, placed on a space close to the Rose Garden. These bring together hundreds of souls who combine a healthy lifestyle with the clean environment of the Park. Saturday and Sunday are very busy days for those who visit the park. They can choose from an fascinating diversity of activities to perform, such as healthy walks, aerobics, yoga, health and nutrition workshops and dancing routines.

Once in the the park, we can also visit the Museum of Natural History and Anthropology Cornelio Moyano. It is one of the oldest museums in the inner country. It has forty thousand copies in their sections of Mineralogy, Paleontology, Ethnology, Archaeology and Zoology. In their collections we can find fossils of about five hundred million years old, like the archaeological samples of the Inca and Huarpe tribes, as well as stuffed animals.

Visiting the San Martin Park is already a classic among the main tourist attractions in Mendoza province, especially in the capital. This park is not only about beautiful flora and gorgeous fountains. It is also the place where many interesting cultural and sport activities are developed.
