I have always been into Black women. But I must admit I had a problem approaching them. Plus I always had the fear of rejection; fear that may be I had assumed a lady was into interracial dating only to be turned down. Naturally, I asked my African American friends to take me to places where Black people meet. They had two places in mind; to take me clubbing or tag me along for one of their family reunions.

Much as both are perfect places where Black people meet, I had my issues which deterred me from actually hooking up with any of the Black single women I had been introduced to. I must admit when I actually got introduced at the club, I couldn’t help but wonder; what if I asked her out and she said "No". Well I can deal with a lady telling me she has a boyfriend but I didn’t want to have to deal with the lady laughing at me saying, "I don’t date white". So I let this go and decided to try the reunion setting.

Now this was the ultimate platform where Black people meet, recap and bond. And I thought it would have been the perfect setting for me to meet this black queen because, well, most of the ladies there were his cousins, aunts even sisters. So I figured at least he knows the ones who don’t mind dating interracially and will point to the right direction.

Black people meet for these events every time and the number if relatives present kind of gave me cold feet. Just as I was in the middle of talking to one of the ladies I had been introduced to, one of the uncles came and told, "I hope you aren’t hitting on my niece". And that is when the pressure checked in; do they all think that of me; that I have come to this event solely to hook up with one of their daughters? True as that was, I didn’t want to be remembered as the guy who goes for reunions where black people meet and hits on all the black women.

But the place I was most comfortable with, the place where you are sure Black people meet and are interested in dating interracially is on an interracial dating site. Somehow, I felt in control of the situation. I didn’t have to worry about rejection or whether I was under the scrutinizing eye of relatives. This is the perfect place where Black people meet eligible men and women from diverse nationalities and ethnicities. And this is where I met my perfect African-American queen.
