Why a Treadmill Can Help You Lose Weight

We all know that losing weight requires 2 very important steps. The first is to eat sensibly while the second is to get regular cardiovascular exercise. Its not really rocket science but most people fail to recognize just how closely these 2 aspects are interlinked. Fit people who exercise regularly tend to eat more sensibly and people who tend to eat more sensibly tend to do regular exercise. Its all about habits and changing your lifestyle which is one reason why I promote treadmill training at home.
Its way to easy to make excuses if you have to make the trek down to the gym just to get your daily exercise and if you exercise outside you are always at the mercy of the weather. Having a treadmill at home does 2 very important things to help you lose weight.
The first is that it removes most of the excuses that keeps so many people from doing any. Th real secret to losing weight is to make exercise a daily habit - like brushing your teeth. You never skip a day because its that important. This leads me to the second reason why having a treadmill is so important and that is to create an environment that is conducive to being healthy.
Imagine taking a brisk 45 minute walk while watching your favorite show versus finishing a pile of junk food snacks while watching your favorite show. When you get into the habit of being healthy, losing weight becomes easy and there is no better place to start than at home. Invest in a treadmill. They are compact, relatively inexpensive (compared to gym fees) and they are extremely good for cardiovascular exercise.
A treadmill allows you to do so much more than just run. Regardless of your fitness level, you can find a level of exercise that can help you lose weight. Even starting out with a brisk walk for 30 minutes can go a very long way. The important thing is to start and to build your strength and endurance slowly. Before you know it you will look and feel great and have a new and extremely empowering habit in your life.
