If you travel in the United States, you probably would enjoy seeing New York City. This very large city is full of life, fascinating buildings such as the famous Manhattan skyscrapers, and culturally significant buildings and events. One has to spend some time thinking about what one wants to see and experience, since there is such a huge variety of things on offer.

On the upper east side of Manhattan, New York, you will find an art museum that will in all likelihood greatly impress you, even if (or perhaps especially if) you are a person who has visited many other art museums. The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum contains a vast collection of art by likes of Chagall, Kandinsky, van Gogh, and Picasso. The permanent collections featuring 20th and 21st century art form the backbone of this significant cultural landmark. In addition, there are spectacular exhibitions with various themes. If you are at all interested in contemporary art, you do not want to miss this museum.

The Empire State Building is 1250 feet or 381 meters tall, which makes it the tallest building in New York and third tallest skyscraper in the United States. In the eighty-sixth floor of the building, there is an observatory that gives its visitors absolutely stunning panorama views over the whole New York Metropolitan area and all the way to neighboring states. There is another observatory on the 102th floor with an additional entry fee. Not surprisingly, the Empire State Building is among the best known landmarks of New York.

St. John the Divine Cathedral in Manhattan, New York is probably the largest cathedral in the world. It features gothic and romanesque styles in its architecture. With the spectacular stained glass windows and the surrounding beautiful gardens, this is a memorable place to visit. The cathedral is over seventy meters in height and covers over 11000 square meters. In addition to church activities, the cathedral is used as a major center for musical performances.
