When planning on starting a family your health, fitness and nutrition is a major factor in having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.

I found this very informative book called Pregnancy Without Pounds. I started looking for information on pregnancy weight gain as my niece who is in her early 30’s’ was pregnant with her first child and wanted to keep her weight gain at a healthy limit without sacrificing the health of the baby. This book is beneficial for any woman considering having children in the near future, those who are currently pregnant, and for the women who have just had their baby (congratulations!) and now are trying to lose the weight they gained during pregnancy.

Nutrition and exercise is a major role in having a healthy pregnancy for you and your baby. Being pregnant is not an excuse to let yourself go, indulge your cravings, quit a fitness routine and literally eat yourself out of house and home! Your body is your Temple and you are in charge of taking care of it. A nutritional balance of food and exercise will make your pregnancy easier by giving your baby the proper nutrients it needs to grow and also lessen your chances of morning sickness and other related pregnancy side effects.

Normal weight gain is usually 15 to 25 pound for the average woman. If you are a little overweight to being overweight it is even more important for you to change your eating habits and start a fitness plan to keep you and your baby healthy through the pregnancy. I looked up the facts for how much pregnancy weight you should gain if you are already overweight and found this information on About.com. If your BMI (body mass index) is 30+ you should gain between 11 – 20 pounds. If your BMI is between 25 – 25.9 you should gain 15 to 25 pounds. Being overweight in pregnancy also means you have a higher risk for complications such as gestational diabetes, high blood pressure and more aches and pains.

Pregnancy Without Pounds was written by Michelle Moss who has been a leading expert online in pregnancy fitness for the past 8 years. She also has 15 years experience as a Health & Nutrition Coach, a Masters Degree in Holistic Nutrition, a Kinesiology Diploma, Psychology Degree and a Personal Trainer Certificate. In this book she shares her formula for successful weight maintenance and body sculpting specifically for pregnant new moms. Her book comes with an Exercise Manual, and Exercise Journal, and a Weight Gain Chart Manager along with other easy to follow plans. This proven program shows you how to get in better shape in as little as 27 minutes a day with minimal effort using "pregnant friendly exercises".

Ladies, this is not your ordinary book about pregnancy, but a book about fitness and nutrition written by Michelle Moss who is an expert in this field. This truly is a self help book and guide and you owe it to yourself and your baby to take a look at it.
