No one can blame you for your Television watching habit. But do you like to curtail the time you spend viewing Television at home without throwing your TV away? Then, I can share with you, a few tips to limit your Television watching time:
- The first thing you need to do is to determine when and why do you watch the TV? Answer these questions and try to change your habits. Some questions you can ask yourself:
Do I usually switch on the TV as soon as I reach home from work and why do I do that?
Do I turn on the tube when the kids get home after their school and why do I do that?
The TV usually goes on when we feel tired or feel bored. Instead, either you need take a short nap or do a few exercises to refresh yourself. Going for a short walk will do the trick. If you want to relax yourself after a long day at work, rather than flipping on the TV you can develop some new habits, healthier habits.
-
Make a nice cup of hot coffee and sip it slowly.
-
Scribble in a journal.
-
Listen to your favorite music.
-
Play some board or card games with your kids or solve some crossword puzzles.
-
Another way to limit your habit is to make Television viewing inconvenient. Do you have a Television in your bedroom? It definitely does not belong there. Be aware of the fact that keeping a TV in your bedroom may lead to a bad marriage and turn out to be bad for your love life as well. It can even lead to a divorce. It also affects your health and may cause insomnia. The best I can suggest you is to put your TV set in the basement and also put the TV remote somewhere remote!
-
How much do you spend each month to your cable service provider? $50? Just think about a thousand ways to spend that amount instead of spending that for your cable subscription. Cancel your cable subscription and limit watching TV. Instead of watching numerous channels that are available through your cable service make your Television a Movie machine. You can definitely control your watching content by renting DVDs from your local DVD store.
Try to adapt these tips and turn off your TV to turn on your life!
