Massage therapy
There are many variations of a massage but they all share the common traits of improving one’s well being. The techniques vary to achieve different purposes. They do however share some common effects to a person. They improve blood circulation because the muscles are stimulated with the gentle strokes created by a massage. Any pain is reduced or totally eliminated with the stimulation of the sensors just under the dermis or the skin of the person. Any blood clots present is eliminated with one good session. It relives the tension that one feels right away. This is very helpful in stressed out people. The everyday stress of working and solving problems in the office takes its toll on any individual after a certain time. The muscles unconsciously harden because of the emotions felt by the person. The problem starts when the muscles do not go back to their normal relaxed state even after the tense situation has already passed by. It creates the back pains and sore muscles felt by a stressed individual.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a method of using needles to encourage the body to heal itself and correct any deficiencies. The heat coming from the prepared needles placed very precise points achieves this effect. There is a lot of explanations but the Chinese were the first ones to develop it to the form it is nowadays. Methods of healing The Chinese believed that they were simple channeling energy into regular patterns throughout the body. They call these channels meridians and they believe that they only need to remove the obstructions present in the body of the client. They view the energy of the person as enough to heal the disease or affliction that is manifesting by allowing it to run its course. The various changes of the body’s energy like digestion and absorption are all regulated by the meridian points acupuncture studies. In reality, it is not energy but rather the reaction of the body to the insertion of the needles that causes the healing process. As soon as you enter a needle, there are a series of chemicals that the body triggers in response to the needle. These blend of chemicals span a wide range of effects since they are never the same. It all depends on the area of the body where the needle was inserted. The combination triggered by the needles therefore addresses a very specific problem with the body. In short, the needles are actually triggering the body’s built in capability to heal itself by hastening the process. WHAT IS MEDICAL ACUPUNCTURE? IS IT DIFFERENT FROM ORDINARY ACUPUNCTURE? The difference with medical acupuncture is that they are administered by a doctor trained and certified to practice it. Their training involves a combination of both the western aspect of medicine and the philosophies of Chinese ancient acupuncture as well. They usually use a combination of both in order to deal with the problems of their patients depending on the occasion.
DOES ACUPUNCTURE REALLY WORK? Conventional western medicine like osteopathic or chiropractic adjustments can be used in conjunction with acupuncture without any feat of a side effect. The best thing to do is to inform your physician all of the medical treatments that you are having to ensure there are no conflicts in their efficacy and treatment. It is understandable that there are a lot of hesitations when it comes to acupuncture but the effects won’t be hindered even if you don’t strongly believe in it. There is of course a psychological component that might affect the healing effects of acupuncture. If the person has a strong disbelief in acupuncture, it is likely that the beneficial effects will be greatly reduced or totally eliminated. It is better that the person have a neutral stance for the acupuncture to work properly. A positive or neutral attitude towards acupuncture will not hinder its efficacy. There are certain things that can indeed help with the application of acupuncture as a treatment. There should be no large meal immediately before or after your treatment because the digestion process will hinder the regulation of the body’s activated chemical responses to the needles. Excessive physical actions like exercise, sexual activity, as well as alcoholic beverages within 6 hours before or after the treatment can seriously affect acupuncture because they all deal with one or two body process. If possible, you should not need to use your body at its optimum level after you receive acupuncture treatment because it is still adjusting to the effects triggered by the immune system. The first few visits are very crucial to this because the changes are newly implemented. Any substance abuse as well as any medication given by your regular doctor will interfere with acupuncture because of their very nature. It is important that there is no other presence in the patient’s bloodstream. Your personal reaction to the treatment should also be tracked in order to ensure that the best technique applied is identified and the least effective method eliminated in the process. The succeeding treatments will mean more specific application to your unique illness compared to a generalized diagnosis at the start of the treatment. The in depth knowledge of your body’s reaction will allow the physician to fine tune the method of treatment.

Furthermore, clients often report a sense of perspective and clarity
after receiving a massage. The emotional balance bodywork provides can often be just as vital
and valuable as the more tangible physical benefits.
