Six pack abs take real effort to develop, and anyone who has them will tell you the same. It takes time to create those great looking abs, and it takes time and dedication to staying fit to keep them. The best place to begin is easing into a habit of eating decently and start small with exercise - you can always build on it, and you should. When your goal is six pack abs, you have to work on your stomach muscles, but you also have to pay close attention to your diet. So for diet think about highly processed foods that are high in fats, and of course the junk foods that are high in fats. It's like there's a post office address on the fat in those foods, and it's addressed to your stomach and mid section area. You'll feel better about yourself if you even start small, but obviously the important thing is to keep making bigger and more gradual changes.
We all have heard that sleep is important, but so many people neglect it; and we mention it because, yes you guessed it, sleep matters when you're working on those abs. Obesity and losing weight are connected to amount of sleep according to research on the matter. It's just that your body works better and with a higher degree of efficiency with enough sleep. So, when you're awake you should get plenty of activity so you can build those six pack abs, but you should also be sure to get enough rest!
In order to build six pack abs, you have to eat a diet that allows you to lose fat while you are building up muscles in the abdomen and other areas. At the same time, you should be doing exercises that specifically target the abdomen. There are all kinds of variations with situps, leg lifts, leg spreads, crunches, etc. The key is regular work-outs, but never overdo your abdomen or stomach muscles so you don't injure yourself. The best results are with a sense of balance in your overall workout while working on your diet and losing the fat blanket. Also, think about balanced strength because you can cause problems if you only work on your abs and nothing else.
While people seem to think six pack abs are some kind of mystery; there isn't any mystery to them at all. So the secret, which isn't a secret, is to eat sensibly and simply plus exercise - and then do it consistently and regularly until the six pack abs reveal themselves to you. The hardest part is the beginning, and once you develop good living habits and begin to see results, then you'll be motivated as ever to keep going.
