Every garden seems to have some type of furniture in it. From benches to patio tables, the furnishings in the garden are just as important as the plants and flowers. One of the best choices you can go with for the material of your fittings has to be oak.
Oak furnishings can be used in any garden or patio area. A bench would be a great addition to just sit and relax or to enjoy a great book. A picnic table could be a wonderful place to enjoy your morning coffee with friends or a nice evening dinner with your family. However, you may want to use the oak garden furnishing as more than just furniture, you may want to use it like art as a sculpture. Since each piece of oak is unique, so is each individual piece of furniture.
Unlike other materials, it will last a lifetime or longer. It is sturdy and strong like the tree that it comes from. It is durable and can withstand a lot of hardship. Whether it be rain or snow or sun, it can withstand all weather. It is heavy enough so it will not be able to be tossed about by the wind. It will withstand all of these elements and more. You will not have to move it inside for the winter or bad weather.
The care of oak garden furniture is easy and requires little time. Because it is so extremely durable, it requires little maintenance. Basically, you just need to make sure that the creatures of outside have not made a home of it. Check for burrows of all sizes and repair as needed. If you do this, your furniture should last long past your life. Oak furnishings in the beginning may have some tannic acid leakage. Tannic acid may cause some paling of the effected area. However, this acid can be cleaned with bleach if necessary, but if left alone it will erode in its own time.
Oak furniture is easy to customize to fit your garden or patio area. Sketching of your family name or a favorite saying can be easily added to personalize your furniture. Since it is stronger than other materials, it can withstand this process. This would be a great thing to leave your family and pass on through the years.
If you want an unique garden, try adding oak furniture. Your patio area will look beautiful and like no other.
