There are many different options available when you are using VoIP phone systems. It is no wonder so many people both at home and at the office has made the switch to use this emerging technology. In order to make the most out of the technology, it is a good idea to use the right kind of phone systems. This means when you sign up for service from your VoIP provider that you choose the best manner to make sure that you will be able to have the service you are looking for which in most cases means problem free, crystal clear phone calls.
Since it always seems there are problems with just about any phone systems out there, it is a good idea to know what you are doing when you choose the kind of VoIP phone systems you want to use. In fact, the service options which are available for these systems include the three major choices. You can either use a managed, hosted or owned VoIP phone system. By looking at the different options that these provide for you, it is easier to make a decision about which ones are best for you in your particular situation.
Managed VoIP
Managed is one of the most popular VoIP phone systems because it allows you to use the kinds of hardware you are looking to use while still getting great service from a reliable provider. When you use this kind of service, you will be able to have professional help at your call at any given time should you run into trouble. While this is not the cheapest option, it is the most popular because it gives people the most freedom out of all of the choices which are available. It also allows you to have worry-free service.
Hosted VoIP
Hosted VoIP phone systems are perfect for those looking for the entire package. This means that you will not have to do anything. You will not have to choose the hardware or worry about getting your phones serviced. When you sign up for service, you will have the phones installed by the provider. You will also have the ability to call on the service technicians any time you will run into a problem. Best of all, the technicians will check in regularly for maintenance on the system. This is because the system still belongs to them. You are just hosting it while you use it.
Owned VoIP
Those who have an IT staff might choose to go for the owned service option for their VoIP phone systems. This is where the hardware and the responsibility for maintaining the lines and the hardware fall upon you. If you do need to call in a technician, it will not be covered by a service agreement. You will have to pay the full price. Additionally, if you need to buy new equipment, it will also be your responsibility to purchase all of the equipment you will need at the retail prices. It is no wonder this is the least popular option.
