Personal Trainer Adelaide - 3 Keys to Losing Belly Fat

Hi, this is Colin Eves, your Natural Personal Trainer in Adelaide.

One of the biggest questions I always get asked is: What is the quickest way to lose belly fat?

The answer to this lies in three key areas and they are:

  1. Exercise

  2. Nutrition

  3. Having the right Mindset.

Let’s start with exercise. Your workouts need to be of high intensity if you want to lose any form of body fat, particularly from around the belly area.

The upside of high intensity training is that it doesn’t take too long! So more effort in less time and, if possible, training the entire body during the workout.

Interval training is best here and I would recommend no more than, say, 20 to 25 minutes per workout, tops, and each workout should be done three times a week with a day’s break in between.

Okay, next is nutrition. Note that I don’t use the term “diet”, and the restriction it implies.

Nutrition, here, is concerned with choosing, focussing upon and eating, food that is nutrient-rich

i.e. your meals should always be of high quality with a maximum amount of nutrients in each bite. Anything whole or natural is always best here.

And when concerned with losing belly fat, if I was going to focus on just one thing to cut out, it would be refined sugar.

And if you wanted to narrow that down even further, cut out the most simple form of sugar: fructose, which which converts to fat very quickly unless you burn it off immediately after consuming it through high intensity training .

Particularly watch out for fructose in the form of high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), which you will find in most processed food products. So, read your packaging - treat your supermarket like a library.

Again, whole and natural foods are always the best when you're making a choice anyway; just stay away from the processed stuff as best you can.

And finally, to our third point, having the right Mindset.

I truly believe that having the right Mindset, one that supports you in whatever it is you want to do, is critical for any kind of success in life.

And that’s why my personal training always includes time for personal self-development coaching.

And when I say mindset, I'm referring to our subconscious self image, that inner model of how we truly believe ourselves to be.

We can only act in accordance to our self-image, and so it will determine our results in life and therefore create our reality.

In the case of wanting to lose belly fat, it is imperative that you develop and create an inner self image that is of someone who is fit, lean, and healthy.

That sort of person can only act and behave in a certain way, and those actions, aligned with points 1 and 2, done on a consistent basis will give you the results you're after.
