Does your dog love sleeping in your bed beside you all night? Do you constantly tell it to get off but it simply won’t listen to you and ignores you? Does the way your dog snores and drools often keep you awake at all hours of the night. While you may love your canine companion, you just can't let your dog sleep beside you no matter what kind of puppy dog eyes it may give you. If any of this is familiar to you then maybe it is time you buy your dog a bed of its own.

Choosing the perfect place for your beloved dog to sleep isn’t as easy as it sounds. You can’t walk into any pet store and pick out the first bed you see. There are a few things you must mull over first like what size bed would be best for your dog. Remember dogs are much more comfortable laying on or sleeping on a bed which is just the right size for them. Here are a few useful tips for finding the perfect sized dog bed:

First think about the type of breed your dog is and the size it can grow to. Try to always think about your dog’s physique. It plays a large part in the choice of bed. For example, a small dog, like a Yorkie, would need a small-sized dog bed, while larger dogs require bigger sized dog beds. Also, if it is still a little puppy, then how big it can grow becomes a significant factor. Dogs have faster life spans when compared to humans so they grow up faster than we do.

It is important your dog bed has enough room for your dog to move easily around in it. Sleeping on its bed should be relaxing for your pet and not stressful at all. Your canine should be able to easily fit its body in the bed but still enough room for it to stretch out. Room is what dogs are usually looking for in a bed. They tend to be hyperactive and have a penchant for moving around even when they are sleeping.

So how well do you know your dog? If the answer is really well, then shopping for a dog bed shouldn’t be that difficult. It all depends on your pet’s preferences and needs.
