The relative ease with which these students obtained jobs indicates how the employers and the wider society regard the college. The starting salary of past students is also a major indicator of the success of the college.
Master of Science and Doctorate in Accountancy
A masters degree in accounting takes only about a year to complete. You can also enhance your credentials by pursuing a PhD degree in accounting. A PhD degree usually takes about three or four years to complete. A doctorate degree in many cases involves the study of accounting theories and the fundamental teaching fundamentals. In order to complete a doctorate, you will need to complete coursework and a thesis. There are some variations in the specializations that one may choose but many of them are related. For instance, you can pursue a management major with a minor in accounting.
Master of Business (MBA) with an option in accounting.
An MBA has become an important pre-requisite for one to obtain a job in the management circles. This is especially true for jobs in the financial sector. In order to pursue an MBA, one needs to have an undergraduate degree in any field. The number of years of experience that are demanded by many schools vary although no school rules out admitting a student straight from an undergraduate school. Some colleges also demand that you present the results of the GMAT test.
