Choosing a 4 stars hotel in Mendoza city, visitors can have a great mix to enjoy. They can enjoy the city tour, to visit a provincial traditional Argentine urban center, yet at the same time it is constantly growing into the XXI century. Yet, Mendoza has a wild face as well. It would not be an understatement to say that the most beautiful natural spots to practice outdoor sports and natural life activities can be found in this region.
Costing the Mendoza River 38 kilometers from the city of Mendoza, it stands Cacheuta, nestled between rocky walls of outstanding beauty. The place is named after Cacheuta, an Indian leader, who gathered hoarded wealth to release Atahualpa, Inca lord, who had been captured by the Spanish vanquishers. Cacheuta lost his battle, and immediately his enemies wanted to get hold of his hidden gold. While doing so, they found a spring of hot water emerging from the earth. The phenomenon was attributed to the soul of the chief. The fact is that these thermal waters have important therapeutic effects, and they have become a world-class spa. In the area we find the power plant, a camping site, a bed and breakfast, the civic center with all services, the old railway station and a very attractive and colorful suspension bridge.
Other great natural site to visit is Pincheira Castles. These natural formations are west of the city of Malargue, 27 miles, following the street Fortin Malargue. This amazing natural sculpture is the result of erosion, specially glaciers. The peculiar feature that it evokes a giant castle with its towers embedded in sediments. Malargue River runs just at the base of it and a few meters away it stands Pincheira Creek with its pristine waters. Tradition has it that this formation was used as shelter by the warlord Pincheira and his troops, after breaking the law he committed during the last years of of XIX century. In the site arrowheads and Indian pottery shards can be spotted. At the edge of the river there is a well provisioned camping site where it is possible to practice some sports: horseback riding, trekking, fishing, mountain biking, etc.
Get to know this picturesque Argentina Province, and while staying in a fine 4 stars hotel in Mendoza it is possible to still make great excursions and enjoy the best of nature in addition to practice your favorite adventure activities, or simply enjoy the charm and quiet of the Andes.
