Online poker tells are basically a point when a player’s body language is all too obvious.

A small sign or a typical gesture by the poker player is good enough to indicate what his/her cards hold and is known as a tell.

When you are playing a real-life game of poker, there are many times when you will come across tells that you can probably use to try as well as read the cards that your opponents have. Certain body language or gestures such as eye movements, a sly smile, and other hints can be the greatest give away of all time.

This is one of the reasons why some of the amateur and professional players fail to control their emotions and end up giving poker tells or hints. In some cases, poker players often wear sunglasses even during the night to avoid tells.

Apart from the eye movement, some people also get sweaty and have twitches as they get excited while playing poker. Everything gets noticed.

Poker tells can be identified only across the table, but there are ways to detect online poker tells as well. Although it is a totally different scenario, there are certain moves that will tell you what your opponent is up to.

• When you are playing poker online, the speed of the opponent’s response will tell you what can be his next move. Usually when a player does not respond quickly, it is a sign of a bad hand. However, if you get a prompt response, it is surely a good hand.

• Chatting constantly online is yet another sign of a weak game. A player who is ready with a good hand will not waste time talking.

• There are some players who act as maniacs during the game and show restlessness too. That’s also a typical sign of weakness.

• There is yet another tell that indicates a player who wants to see hands for free only to fold as the betting begins. Such players are the limpers.
