Searching for a bed bugs cure? well, the sad truth is that neither bed bug infestations or the bites they give are easy to cure.
Take a bed bug bites cure, how should you cure terrible itching and horrid red welts which cover your skin? The answer is you can't - you might want to try numerous lotions and potions like calamine lotion or hydro-cortisone cream which is give some relief the discomfort or you might want to purchase some oral antihistamine tablets from the drug store but, basically it is a case of patiently waiting for the rash to die down in its own time. This will vary from person to person and can be anything from a couple of days to a couple of weeks. Of course, this isn't going to happen until you use an effective bed bugs cure to rid your home of the infestation, because until you do you will be bitten night after night!
Let's put one myth to bed (pardon the pun!) before we begin - these bugs are not just invading dirty homes, hotels, hostels etc. - they don't discriminate! These little blood suckers will happily hitch a ride in your luggage, clothing, purse - whatever, travel to your property and begin to breed whether it is spotless or filthy. Remember they do not feed on dirt or crumbs they only consume blood and they really don't mind about whose blood it is.
There are a fair number of bed bugs cures on the market but the first step is always the same - DECLUTTER - get rid of anything you no longer require such as newspapers, magazines, books etc. WARNING, bed bugs hide out in all kinds of obscure places so don't be tempted to merely put this clutter straight into your garbage. You will end up spreading the infestation because these little buggers are extremely mobile! You must through everything into a plastic bags and seal them tightly and do this in the room where you are trying to cure the bed bugs infestation.
The second important step is to strip off all bedding and take it along with all garments which can be laundered in sealed plastic bags to the laundry area. Launder all of these garments etc. at as high a temperature as is possible. You may want to consider using a product like Benzarid which is designed to sanitize fabrics - Benzarid is part of the Bed Bug Patrol Range. Any items not suitable for laundering should be placed in a tumble dryer on a high setting for about 10 minutes. For business suites and other similar items you could use a steam cleaner. Please do not be fooled into thinking that you only need concern yourself with items lying around the room, the bugs will find their way to hide in dark places, so possessions in drawers and closets too must be treated. It is worth remembering that heat is one of the best bed bugs cures around!
The next job is to get out your vacuum cleaner and vacuum EVERYTHING, the mattress, the box spring, soft furnishings, inside drawers etc. You should check in even the most obscure places - look inside alarm clocks, check picture frames, smoke alarms and so on bed bugs are excellent at climbing! Your vacuum can suck up live bed bugs, nymphs, larva and eggs so being thorough and methodical at this stage is vital. Once again empty your vacuum as soon as you finish in the infested room, place the contents into plastic bags, seal them tightly and remove to the garbage.
Now you have a choice which bed bugs cure are you going to use as the final nail in their coffin?
-
Steam - as I mentioned earlier heat is a useful bed bugs cure but, merely turning up the heating in not going to do the job! The heat must be instant and intense and the best piece of kit for this is a steam cleaner. If you decide to use this as a bed bugs cure you should follow the same thorough and methodical route you have already taken with your vacuum cleaner - leave nothing untreated.
-
A bed bug spray - there are vast numbers of these on the market, some are chemical based and can be toxic whilst others are completely natural and safe whilst still extremely effective. One which I have personal experience of is Bed Bug Patrol. This stuff kills bed bugs on contact and can be sprayed around cracks and crevices, on the bed frame, box spring and in drawers etc. without fear of any adverse effects to the health of humans or animals residing at the property. You can go straight to this step after vacuum cleaning the room or perhaps use it as a safety net having used the steam cleaner too.
-
Fossil Shell Dust - This can also be bought from Bed Bug Patrol and is completely organic and safe (it is in fact food grade.) Sprinkle this around cracks and crevices, on carpets, in furniture etc. The dust works by penetrating the waxy skin of the bug causing it to dehydrate and die. Therefore this is a fairly inexpensive and long lasting bed bugs cure when used in conjunction with the other one or more of the other steps.
-
Bed Bug Traps - These are designed to catch bed bugs on the move! If you attach these to bed posts, chairs or other bits of furniture around the room the bugs will stick to them as they attempt to reach their nightly feast. These are great to pop into your case is you are concerned about bed bugs away from home. Once again you can get these on the Bed Bug Patrol site.
I hope you find this look into bed bugs cures which I have used and had success with useful. What I found particularly useful were the packs of Bed Bug Patrol products which supply everything you require like the Bed Bug Patrol Super Pack and the Bed Bug Patrol Value Pack.
Happy hunting!
