With a pair of visits to Camp Koinonia finished I have to say that it really is a great spot to travel and enjoy in group settings. The places to stay, while not hotel level of quality supply a plain and simple lodging experience. The camp is managed and owned by The Oregon-Washington District Church of the Brethren.

The installations incorporate over one hundred acres, accommodations for about one hundred and sixty people, A great lodge with a capacity for one hundred and twenty five persons, a well equipped kitchen, eight multi-person cabins, a conference building, twenty four RV sites with electric services, a thirty person yurt type chapel, a dog sled camp, corral spaces for horses, and external cooking capacities.

Camp Koinonia has it all, quiet beauty that is unrivaled. If you love the snow it is superb place for a group winter retreat. You can to run dog sleds, take pleasure in hiking on the surrounding trails, and nearby skiing can be experienced.

Most any type youth or adult event are generally held at the site. With sufficient indoor facilities in order that functions can continue on rain, snow and shine.

Historically the property was secured in 1958. The Heritage Cabin number two was the first building to be set up. The lodge was added in 1962 with new cabins being integrated in 1975 that have all been remodeled or enlarged also.

Extra buildings such as the retreat center and leadership cabins were added. Since the late sixties. In 2005 a fresh set of four cabins were added. Plans are secured for the development of a swimming center and a much larger building to provide for meetings.

The Camp Koinonia experience is delightful and uplifting. I observed and participated in, dogs sledding, cross country skiing, hiking, snow sledding, and playing football in the snow. One thing that truly got me was the extreme quiet atmosphere when just hanging out for a little alone time. One would be able to hear a pin drop even.

Camp Koinonia is easily accessible during all 4 seasons.
