Reports suggest that the mCommerce industry grew about 150% to around 200% in the year 2010, and is expected to grow at a rate of 65% annually generating around 25 billion dollars by the year 2015. According to a research conducted by the ABI research firm, by the year 2015 transaction worth around 115 billion dollars would be done using a mobile phone. What’s more? The number of active mobile banking users in the US will catapult from 10 million in the year 2009 to 53 million by the year 2013.
Mobile ticketing has not only freed you from the tedious task of standing in queues for booking tickets, but also reduced costs. Firstly the entire concept of a digital ticket saves paper, and the other costs associated with printing and posting those tickets. It also reduces the operational and delivery expenses associated with it.
The rising use of mobile coupons has also triggered the growth of mCommerce. Random research suggests that more than 300 million consumers will use mobile coupons by the year 2014 and will generate around six billion dollars globally. QR code integration has triggered the growth of mobile ticketing and mCommerce. It is expected that the transport companies will make the most of this facility and drive the mobile ticketing market.
