Do you have several hours everyday to dedicate to playing games? If your answer is yes..well than lucky you, otherwise you are not unlike myself and have way too many things that require your time. Ok so once in a great while I will find myself able to sit down for longer than I feel I should and play some old school Mario kart 64 or something. This however is very rare and I spend most my time trying to make sure my bills are paid. Thankfully there is an answer...the Browser RPG.

A Browser RPG is an online multiplayer role playing game where you can play simply play by going to their website, signing up, and creating a character. A true Browser RPG will not require you too download anything which is nice. I don't think anyone likes spyware. Another great perk of a Browser RPG is that most of them are free to play! Now you may find that most of the free Browser RPG companies will gladly accept some type of payment of donation via paypal or credit card in exchange for in game goods such items or some kind of enhanced subscription. I tend to steer clear of any Browser RPG that restrict a lot of content to the paid members.

Back to the point. Unlike most multiplayer games, a Browser RPG is much less demanding of your time. Generally actions required by the player are a matter of a few clicks. Multiplayer elements are left in tact by large group events often being spread out over a few days or even weeks. During this time a player may be required to put in 5 minutes of actual time into the game.

This does not detract from the feeling of your individual contribution as just like in any RPG, the stats of your character by whatever means of acquisition will have a relative impact on whatever it is that you and your friends may be trying to accomplish. You can open up a tab in your web browser, login to your character, dominate, and log right off if need be. This is great if your at bored at work or school. Not having to download anything also helps this type of effort as well. Of course this is assuming they allow the particular site your trying to access or web content all together.

Ok, so you have no intention of interacting with anyone else. That's ok you don't have to. Many newer Browser RPG's have features such as quests and NPC's (Non Playable Characters) or computer enemies to combat. You may find that after completing a few of these quests you will have collected some serious stat boosting gear that you may want to show off in some sort of multiplayer event. I've seen a handful of new Browser RPG games that feature multiplayer quests as well. Now in these situations its good to let the people you are playing with if you are on any type of time constraint. This will avoid...complications.

In summary, a Browser RPG is great for anyone who doesn't have a whole lot of time to sink into games but still wants to be able to participate in a multiplayer role playing game. Go out and try a couple, you may find yourself finding a new favorite game.
