Living in the Pacific Northwest has it's ups and downs, for sure. The non-stop rain can make it a pretty wet and dreary time for the winter months. We had a lot of rain a few months ago, followed by a very severe wind storm that blew a nice sized tree over and damaged the roof of our house. The damage was mainly over the garage, which was not too bad; however the water rusted out our old attic ladder door in the garage. Time to replace it I suppose. I often use the internet to search and research whatever I need. From my pool table to my new air conditioner, the internet helped me out tremendously. Now if it will only help me out just one last time.
I logged onto the internet and let my fingers do the walking and the talking. It amazes me that people will take the time to sit down and write a blog or product review, even explaining how to install an attic ladder door. After reading several product reviews, and asking quite a few questions; I ordered my attic ladder door and waited for it to arrive. Oh yeah, shipping was free due to a special the website was having, nice!
My wife is the home improvement specialist in our house, so she is instrumental in everything that goes on around here concerning home improvement. She put in all of the new countertops, and backsplash in the kitchen; along with a new sink, tub and fixtures in the master bathroom. That is right, she is truly a gifted woman. When the attic ladder door arrived we unpacked it, and tore into the project with reckless abandon. The packaging material disappeared with little effort, revealing the attic ladder door and the hardware needed to install it; we were both very excited and said let's do this!
My wife and I took our time installing the ladder door. I have to say that it went in easily, and the instructions were very helpful. Plus we downloaded a free video showing us step by step how to do it, another bonus! I guess it took us all of three or four hours to remove the old door, and install the new one. Standing back and admiring our handy work, I could not help but think that we cold do anything together. Well with the help of the internet and each other that is!
