Are you looking for a mattress pad that is environmentally friendly and resistant to bacteria and mold? Consider purchasing a latex mattress pad for your bed. It is a tough yet comfortable material that is made from the sap of a rubber tree. There is also a synthetically made version of it, however the naturally made pad is just as durable and kinder to the environment.
Latex mattress pads provide support for your entire body and uniform firmness for you as you sleep. In addition, it is less prone to disturb your partner if you move around in your sleep. They provide naturally orthopedic support, easing pressure on joints and cradling your entire body in comfort.
Mattress pads made of latex aren't just environmentally friendly, they're healthier for you and your family. If you or someone in your family is prone to allergies, natural latex is an excellent choice since it resists dust mites and other common household allergens. It is also resistant to bacteria and microbes that can irritate the lungs and nasal passages. Finally, you can get a good night's rest without sneezing or coughing from inhaled allergens.
If you have a special preference for firmness in a mattress but don't want to have to replace it, latex pads come in a wide variety of densities. A well made pad can last twenty years or more, giving your futon a longer life as well. If you're wondering if a it will lose it's shape over time, don't worry, it maintains it's shape and density throughout it's lifespan of use.
There are two different types of latex processes used to make mattress pads. The Talalay process is a bit more intricate in that the pad is frozen after it is manufactured, in order to maintain consistency throughout the pad, locking the cells in place. In contrast, the traditional method of manufacturing the pads is simply pouring liquid latex into a mold and allowing it to set. This method creates a pad that is more dense and a bit heavier than those made with the Talalay process and are usually a little less costly. Both types of pads however, have their own unique benefits and are simply different.
If you're looking for a comfortable, durable and eco-friendly way to top your current mattress, consider a latex pad. You'll find that you've never slept more comfortably, without worrying about pesky allergens or having to replace a mattress that is relatively new.
