Losing weight can be a very tricky process: Go too fast and you'll put your health and your life at risk. Go too slow and you'll end up losing interest. You have to take the middle ground in order to be see results without sacrificing your body's capacity to function efficiently.

But it is human nature to be impatient. It is human psyche to rush, to arrive at the destination before anyone else does. We are so edgy, so keen on getting there that patience is considered a saintly virtue that is difficult for normal individuals to acquire. It is also our undoing, especially where fat loss is concerned.

In our quest for instant gratification, engaging in lose weight fast diets and ingesting fat loss pills have become common. These kinds of diets and supplements, when not done under the supervision of a health professional, have the potential to harm and threaten the lives of those who use them. News of young models collapsing before a fashion event or actually dying minutes after getting home because their bodies were not able to survive the starvation brought about by these diet regimens are common and a cause for concern. Young girls who wish to look thin follow advice given by their favorite celebrities, and unfortunately, these are neither sound nor medically-approved. They go as far as to buy the pills endorsed by their stars and use it judiciously only to find weeks later that it has a host of unhealthy side effects.

Lose weight fast diets and pills are a myth. This is a fact that has been preached often but still seems to fall on deaf ears. A healthy way to shed those excess pounds is through regular exercises and healthy nutritious meals. An individual who seeks to lose weight must go into a diet and workout routine gradually, allowing his body to adjust and adapt to the process. A healthy does not restrict but rather emphasizes healthy eating habits and sensible portions. Exercises done allow for a building up of stamina and endurance.

The pills and supplements that usually accompany these lose weight fast diets are questionable too. Some of them are made up of herbal ingredients whose efficacy and long-term safety has not been fully-established and tested. With some marketed as over-the-counter medication, you should be wary of taking these pills for more than a month without consulting your physician.

In the final analysis, there are no shortcuts nor are there quick fixes in weight loss. It takes time and a lot of determination and discipline to succeed in shedding those pounds off. No magic pills, diets or supplements can ever replace good old exercise and sound nutrition. Lose weight fast diets and fat loss pills are dangerous because they don't encourage sustainable lifestyle changes for the long-term. The focus is not on the overall health benefits to be achieved from shaping up, but on the numbers on the weighing scale. Thus, instead of strengthening their body systems through exercise and healthy eating, they add problems to it when they crash at the end of a severely restrictive dieting regimen or have the misfortune to buy diet pills with banned ingredients incorporated in them.
