What does your Skin say about you. Healthy? Beautiful? Vibrant? Or Dry, Rough and Sagging? Your skin anatomy tells people what’s going on in the body. Does it reflect a care of the body, or give the impression of lack of interest or concern?

Your skin is the largest organ of the body. If you were to stretch it out, it would cover about 18 square feet. That’s a lot of skin cells that have to be maintained and replaced.

Most people think of the skin as being a passive organ, but actually it’s quite busy. It shields you from the sun, chemicals, bacteria and countless environmental factors. It’s waterproof, so you don’t swell up when you’re caught in the rain, nor dry out in the hot sun. With its sweat glands, it keeps your body temperature fairly constant, and if you get chilled, thousands of goose bumps suddenly appear. Skin, with its layer of fat, is a shock absorber and on excellent insulation against cold. Its also your immune systems first line of defense. So you don’t want to do things to it that would cause your skin to break down.

Your skins appearance tells the world what’s going on in the rest of the body. Many illnesses announce themselves on the skin before you even feel sick. A pale complexion can be a lack of iron. Easy bruising can mean a low level of vitamin C. Puffiness under the eyes can indicate a kidney disorder. Even when embarrassed, the skin can suddenly contain a massive amount of blood. This is what’s happening when you’re "blushing". Lack of sleep causes it to look dull and lusterless. Stress usually causes white or grayish skin.

So it really makes sense to nourish your skin both inside and out. The "keys" to healthy-looking, radiant skin are nutrients. More important are the right nutrients, in the right amounts, and in the right form your skin can use. When it comes to taking care of your skin on the outside, make sure you use skin care products daily that are always safe, and are always guaranteed to work. One of our favorite products is the Enfuselle skin care line. It's nutrient based, clinically proven, hypoallergenic, ph balanced, never animal tested and holds 7 patents!
