What is hCG?

hCG stands for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, a hormone naturally produced by the placenta in pregnant women and almost completely controls the

metabolic function through the hypothalamus throughout the pregnancy. Contrary to popular belief however, the hCG used in the Hcg diet protocols is a

variation of the hCG form used for fertility treatments, and in a much smaller dose. All hCG used for medical purposes is natural, but created in

laboratories from sterile cells. It is NOT extracted from women or animal urine- a common misconception.

How much weight will I lose with the hCG diet?

Most hCG dieters report a loss of 1 to 2 lbs a day. At the very least, .5 pound a day, and at the most, 3 + lbs a day. 1 lb is generally lost in the first day.

Factors that guarantee faster weight loss include increasing vegetable intake and mixing salad with each meal. Fiber intake is extremely important, as is

water intake.

Is the hCG Diet Dangerous?

The hCG Diet seems to be everywhere in the news these days – people from all walks of life are trying it and achieving the results they have always

hoped for. But is it safe? You will find conflicting reports all across the internet, but what you won’t find is confirmation of any of these risks or that the

data comes from sources that followed the hCG diet protocol as set out by Dr. Simeons, the creator of the system, back in the 1950’s.

Most of us know that hCG is the hormone produced in pregnant women. The actual amount used in the diet is very low levels (125-200 IU) – these levels

are followed along with a Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD) -this is key in achieving the results you want, and a factor that many of the studies that detractors

use are guilty of not following.

People everywhere are claiming that they have finally found the cure to weight loss instead of the dozens of bandaids they had been trying for so many

years, only to regain the weight, and then some, after stopping the diet. They claim that following the diet has gone so far as to retrain their brain in the

correct way to eat and look at food. A miracle? Absolutely if it works!.......
