Are You Limiting Yourself With a Story You Have Created About Yourself?

Many people create a story about themselves and their personal limitations and then they abide by that story no matter what. It becomes who they are to the very core, and the story can limit their ability to do things outside of the scope of who they have written themselves to be.
For example, back in high school I remember my friend telling everyone that she was 'no good at English'. She struggled with the final class and had to take it over again just to get a decent passing mark. She would go on and on about how she was never going to understand the concepts of English no matter how hard she tried. She repeated this to herself while she studied and while she wrote her exams. She did get through it, but barely!
But because of her belief that she was never going to understand it she would get frustrated and tense when she would study. This limited her ability to open up her mind and let in the concepts that she needed to understand. Her mind literally could not try to wrap itself around the concept because it was so busy telling her that it would never be able to. Of course anyone can learn the concepts behind how we write, talk, and speak – it just takes a clear, focused, and open mind to take it all in.
There are many examples of these limiting thoughts that we write into the story of our life. We tell ourselves that we are just born being a certain way and that there is nothing we can do about it.
But of course no one is born being a grumpy person – yet many people will tell you that they are just a grumpy person by nature!
No one is born being a mean person but many people claim that their ability to make others feel bad is just who they are!
If we start to look at these limiting stories that we write as just stories that we’ve written, then we can see that they can be re-written many times throughout our lives. It’s easy! All we have to do is take that part that says we are a grumpy person and re-write to say ‘I used to be a grumpy person but now I’m a happy and positive person’. Then we will start to take action in our lives to make that story come true.
Stop negative thinking that limits who you are and start reaching for your potential of who you can be. It's more fun to run through the field of life then it is to stay in one spot.
