A lot of dust can be generated inside the house when renovating. It can often be tough to remove this dust because it can scatter anywhere inside the house, even on areas that are far from the working area. You usually need to dedicate a number of hours just to clean up the mess. However, by employing certain techniques to remove it, you can finish cleaning up your home in less time.
There are simple yet effective ways to remove dust around the house in no time at all.
Aside from the dust, there can be lots of small pieces of building material or debris left after the renovation process. Sweeping is an effective way to collect and remove the small pieces. However, sweeping is not advisable in removing the fine dust inside the house. By doing so, it will only let the dust fly into the air which will then eventually settle back again onto the surfaces. If you need to sweep out the debris, make sure to have enough air flow inside the house. You can do that by opening the doors and windows so you can disperse the dust out of the house.
It is advisable to remove the dust that settles on any surface inside the house by vacuum cleaning. Vacuum cleaning the surfaces is a great way to take away the dust. For a thorough clean, wipe it with a damp cloth to totally remove the dirt that has already deposited. It can sometimes leave marks though but they can also easily be removed by wiping again with a clean and dry cloth or with the use of a universal cleaning product to remove the stains.
A lot of dust will also settle on the flooring. If the flooring is carpeted, immediately vacuum clean it. The sooner you remove the dust in the carpet, the easier it will be removed. For hardwood flooring, it is also advisable to vacuum clean it then follow it up with a scrubber drier. Aside from vacuum cleaning, another effective way to remove the dust is through mopping. It can be a tiresome process and can sometimes leave dirt that looks like streaks of mud. But to remove the dirt that is left, you can also remove it by scrubbing a dry cloth on the floor to leave the floor shiny.
