It is good for both the authors and the buyers to know the differences between the two types of usage licenses available at Designers Paradise. However while the author sets prices for both, it is the buyer who must be able to see the differences more than anyone. The buyer must be aware of the differences because which they purchase is going to have a significant influence on how they can use their purchase.

There are two license types. The first is the Regular License. This type of licensing is meant to only be used one time and one time only. For example, a website template may be downloaded and used for one website. It cannot be used twice by the same buyer. This is monitored by allowing for the product to be downloaded once. If the product must be used again, then a Regular License can be purchased again for the product. This process can be repeated as needed, but the cost does need to be weighed against purchasing an Extended License.

The Extended License is the second and higher priced type of license at Designers Paradise and the one that gives the buyer the most freedom to do what they wish with the product. For example, a web designer will want a template that they can use more than once for websites they create for their clients. Sometimes, web designers do not use the entire template. They may use certain elements of the template in their own creations in order to ensure that all of the websites they create are unique.

There are so many possibilities with an Extended License. Images and scripts can be taken from one product and placed into another. How much a buyer wants to do with their purchases will depend on which license type they purchase. If an individual knows for sure that they will only need the product once or not enough times to buy an Extended License, then the Regular License is going to be ideal. If a person wants to take a number of templates and create their own or take a template apart and use parts of it for different purposes, then an Extended License is the only option.

Lastly, many buyers do know what they are looking for when they visit Designers Paradise, but there are those that don’t. Even if a buyer doesn’t know what they want when they arrive, browsing the many templates, scripts, and other products can give a person an idea of what they need to do to make their website the best it can be. Usually if there is any doubt as to how frequently a product may need to be used, it is best to opt for the Extended License if budget allows. If budget doesn’t allow, the Regular License is a great choice as well.
