Determining your infant's gender has become a popular topic over the past years. There are many beliefs as to why this is the case, however, the biggest factor seems to be the accessibility of technology which makes choosing the gender of your child a scientific possibility.
Moreover to the numerous technological paths to select the gender of your baby, there are few low-tech ways considered to help in the process as well. The most usually known methods of the sex selection are the Shettles Method and the Whelan Method.
Both methods of choosing the gender of your baby claim that the timing of sex activity to a woman's ovulation cycle, as well as depth of penetration, play a role in sex selection.
The Shettles Method, named after the founder of the method, Dr. Landrum B. Shettles, claims that in order to determine a male child, a parents should have the intercourse as close to or on the day of ovulation as possible. He asserts that deeper penetration during intercourse will also result in a male gender. Conversely, sex activity timed two to four days prior to ovulation, as well as shallow penetration, is considered to make a female baby.
The Whelan method, named after its founder as well, Dr. Elizabeth Whelan, also believes that timed intercourse can results in a couple's ability to select the gender of their infant. She theorizes, however, that a parents should have sex 4 - six days prior to ovulation to achieve a little boy, and two - 3 days before ovulation if a girl is desired.
While each of the two usual methods looks to dispute each other, both methods of determining the sex of your infant have many fans who claimed to have successfully used one of the methods.
For those who decide to allow a surprise at the end of the gestation, the excitement of the new child may take a little longer if it's not the gender they desired, but, again, is a common feeling and comes to an end as the couple falls in love with their new little boy or girl.
