We all have heard the saying that we only get one chance at a first impression, and that is more true than many people realize. A first impression can literally make or break whether you will get another chance with someone you randomly meet. In fact, I think most people make up their minds about someone they see in the first few seconds of being around them.

So those few seconds can be your springboard into their mind or the plank out of their sight. So if you are looking for love then remember these 3 essential tips that you should be using when making first impressions.

  1. Always Look Your Best

If you meet someone who catches your interest in the grocery store but you are donning your hole-in-the-crotch sweats and haven't showered for a few days, then what do you think they will think when they see you?

They will probably look and quickly size you up as a person who doesn't take care of themselves, and that can translate to them questioning the rest of your life and success in it and whether they want that type of person. It's not fair, but it's instinctual for humans to do. Think of the last dirty person you saw in holy sweats and dirty clothes - chances are you didn't think they would be fun to roll around with in the sack!

So keep your best appearance in mind when you walk out the door in case you meet that certain someone.

  1. Don't React From an Emotional Place

You may have had a bad day at work, your mother may be annoying the heck out of you, and your car got a flat tire on the way home, but don't take it out on a potential love interest because you can never take that back.

If someone approaches you and you shoot them a dirty look because you are in a bad mood, then you can bet that they will quickly size you up as a rude person and be turned off quicker than they got turned on.

Try to remember that any person who approaches you who you are going to be potentially rude to could be your next love interest who has every quality you are looking for! That may help you keep the charming smile on your face.

  1. Use Eye Contact to Say it All

If you meet a potential love interest and you end up looking at everything and everyone besides them, then they will quickly sum you up as not interested in them and rude to boot.

If you want to make a good impression with anybody, then make eye contact. If you are interested in the person make exaggerated eye contact with longer and more intense stares. This will show your interest and allow the person to feel the interest from you loud and clear. You can give them flirty and smiley eyes, bedroom eyes, or just interested eyes, but the most important thing to remember is the eye contact.
