Where have all the good men and women gone to? Why is it so hard for you to find them after you head your door in the morning? Are you ever going to meet the man or woman of your dreams? Why are all the common 'pick up' spots not working? All of these questions can get stuck in a single persons head very easily when love just doesn't seem to be hanging around for them. But don't give up hope because they are out there, and possibly they are closer than you think.

The fact there are about 1 in 5 people out there looking for love, just like you, means that there are millions of single people out there, and a huge amount of those people are wandering past you every single day. You pass them in the coffee shop on their computer, in the park walking their dog, and in line at the local grocery store. They are everywhere! And they too are asking themselves where all the other good men and women are.

But because you don't realize that you are seeing single people every single day you end up only going on the hunt for potential love at the bar, or scour work, or wait for your friends to hook you up with someone. This can result in you ignoring the people close to home and instead getting pumped up only for the bar or other regular spot to meet someone.

Many people actually find their love interest close to home. Even after all their efforts of trying to find someone the 'normal way'. This isn't surprising as we spend a lot of our leisure time close to home. So what better way to meet someone than to use our leisure time wisely?

Here are just 3 places close to home to start engaging your potential love interests in conversation.

  1. Your nearby park - It doesn't matter whether it's a dog park or just a park that offers a place to get away. People at parks are more relaxed and open to conversations and new experiences. Conversations are easy because the park becomes the focal topic and you both will have a lot to say about why you are there and what you think of it. Plus you can strike up a conversation with someone without looking like you are hitting on them. This guarantee's that if they are not single you won't make a fool out of yourself.

  2. In line at the coffee shop - Often coffee line ups are long and this offers you a chance to find out a little bit about a person. You can talk about how good it smells in the shop or how glad you are you have this place so close to home. Who knows, if you two hit it off you may end up sitting down together and enjoying a nice conversation over your coffee.

  3. At the local gym - Is there a better way to get out and feel good about yourself while meeting potential love interests at the same time? You know that these people are taking care of themselves, and working out offers a huge focal point for conversation. Plus you get the benefit of seeing them over and over again (because they probably attend the gym often) so there's no pressure to 'make it happen' the first few times you talk to them.

I'm sure you can think of many more places close to home that will allow easy conversation and a chance to get to know each other without the pressure of having to get the number or never see the person again. Remember that the person walking behind you could be the man or woman of your dreams so keep your mind open.
