Handles:

Various handles are available in the market, ranging from traditional Georgian style handles to lever on back plate and lever on rose handles. Lever on back plate handles may be either traditional e.g. Georgian and Victorian, or modern contemporary. Lever on rose handles may also be traditional or modern, with finishing ranging from polished chrome or brass and satin chrome or nickel. Antique or Georgian style door handles are another way to go when picking a handle. Popular door handle brands include Jedo, Urfic, Stylo, Elite and Yale. Antique black or Georgian style door handles have also proved popular.

Hinges:

A hinge usually holds one edge of the door to the frame. Hinges available in the market include parliament and washered hinges. Various sizes of hinges are also available ranging form 76x51mm to 102x127mm. Packs of door hinges contain either 1-4 pairs or 5+ pairs.

Latches:

A latch allows a door to be fastened internally without requiring an external handle. A latch may be tubular, flat, a roller bolt catch or double sprung in brass, polished brass electro brass and Satin nickel or chrome. The average door latch is 63mm to 76mm.

Door Closers:

A closer is a mechanical device for closing an open door. Overhead door closers are the most common in the market. Popular brands include Eclipse, Dorgard and Briton. They are available in packs of 1, 1-4 and 5+.

Door stops:

A door stop prevents the door from opening too far or hitting other objects. The various styles available include conical, oval, wedge, dome and projection door stops. They are available in PVC, polished, electro and plain brass, bright, matt and satin chrome.

Door security:

Security products include insurance rated locks, rim locks, night latches, door chains, door bolts and Euro locks. Door bolts may be sprung or flush door bolts available in polished chrome or brass, stainless satin or brass satin. Door chains are useful in restricting access when the door is opened. Euro locks may include cylinders, sashes and dead bolts. Yale night latches are pretty popular and they come in packs of 1-4 and 5+.

Escutcheons:

This refers to a decorative plate that surrounds the key hole. Popular brands of escutcheons include standard key way, Jedo and Euro. They are available in satin and polished chrome, polished stainless steel, polished aluminium and black nickel. Their size ranges from 32 mm to 52 mm. They are available in packs of 1-4 and 5+.

Door hardware also includes letter boxes and numerals. Letter boxes are also known as mail slots. They are available in a variety of colours including gold, silver, white, polished brass or chrome and black. Numerals may be single, double or triple back plate.
