Mesmerising Malaysia
Why this land of colors and contrasts should be your next vacation choice
Are you looking for peaceful days lying on the beach, and a comfortable resort-style vacation? Or do you crave the vibrancy and verve of a big city, with its shops, restaurants and urban attractions? Perhaps you’re an adventurer with a taste for jungle trekking, or a diver in search of new sights under the sea?
Whatever you’re looking for, Malaysia is the place to choose for your next vacation - because this country truly does have it all.
Whether you’re a couple looking for a romantic getaway, a solo traveler seeking adventure, or you’re travelling with your family and want to plan a kid-friendly holiday, Malaysia has something for you.
Given the vast diversity of this land, it’s easy to find a place to visit that holds a special interest for you. Here we detail some of the most beautiful places in Malaysia to visit:
Kuala Lumpur
The capital of Malaysia and its economic hub, KL has all the comforts of the first world and a unique character of its own. Here you’ll find busy malls and fast food joints, fancy hotels and elegant restaurants. But you’ll also be able to explore temples, mosques, and churches, sample some local cuisine, browse the night market and visit some ancient caves not far away.
Langkawi
Malaysia’s most popular site for tourists, Langkawi boasts beautiful beaches, warm waters and a plethora of gorgeous resorts to holiday at. The main town Kuah boasts a shopping mall which is especially attractive as the island has been declared a duty-free zone. But most visitors head to Langkawi to enjoy the miles of coastline and excellent water-sport facilities. There are also several important annual events held here, including a Festival of Arts, an International Water Festival and the Tour de Langkawi.
Penang
Nicknamed the Pearl of the Orient, the island of Penang is a visual and cultural treat - its beautiful colonial buildings bear testament to a long history of British rule and a leading role in the trading empire. Visitors enjoy the city scape as well as the soft sandy beaches, of which Batu Ferringi is the most popular. The capital Georgetown has lots to offer in terms of sightseeing and historical architecture, and the shopping is cheap at the malls as well as the night market. Penang is most famous for being the food capital of Malaysia, and true foodies find a gastronomic world without parallel at the many restaurants and street stalls here.
Melaka
Formerly known as Malacca, this tiny city-state draws a multitude of visitors every year who come to admire its famous landmarks and buildings and sample its distinctive local cuisine. Must-visit places include the beautiful local Sultanate Museum, the old A’Fomosa fortress and St. Paul’s Church. Melaka is also home to the famed Nonya style of cuisine, a unique blend of Chinese, Malay and other cooking styles which has evolved into something entirely new and utterly delicious.
Cameron Highlands
Far from the hot beaches and busy towns is Cameron Highlands, a vast area of rolling green hills, tea plantations and forests. Cool and green all year round, the area is exceptionally fertile, and aside from tea, flowers and vegetables are also grown here on a commercial scale. There’s a network of jungle trails, mountains and rivers, but those looking for more sedate sightseeing can also explore the picturesque temples and rose gardens.
It is refreshing to be able to explore new places with different sights and sounds. Every country has its own uniqueness and never one place is the same.Visit http://gomalaysiamap.com for more information on Malaysia.
